Mr Sachin Y. Shende, an engineering graduate of Computer Science from NIT Nagpur and a Finance MBA from the University of Florida with CAIIB certification from Indian Institute of Banking & finance. He is an accomplished techno-managerial professional with over 22+ Years of rich experience in Payment Systems, IT Project Management, Infrastructure Management, IT service management, Information & Cyber Security, Network and Security Management.
Having a progressively rich experience in his association with Reserve Bank of India, starting as a Manager in 1999 and playing critical roles in establishing numerous IT projects like RTGS, NEFT, SOC, Data centre, Secured Internet website (Internet delivery channel of RBI with its users viz. Central and State governments, Banks, Financial institutions and common masses), Video Conferencing facility for RBI, Corporate email, Enterprise knowledge portal for RBI employees, etc. as well as effective and efficient operations and management of critical payment systems, cybersecurity and IT infrastructure for RBI. He has also served as member of many Technical Advisory Groups of RBI and is a recipient of Gold medal both in individual and Group category which had a citation by Governor of RBI for exceptional and exemplary service to the RBI in 2010.
In his current role joining IFTAS as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in October 2019 and held charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) till 27th May 2020, he has defined, streamlined & automated various organizational processes and procedures, successfully achieved the launch of NEFT 24 x 7 for the country in a time-bound manner. With the advent of Covid19 pandemic, he proactively strategized and executed the coherent Business Continuity Management (BCM) starting mid-March itself and devised New Work Way to carry out critical payment and communication services to ensure financial lifeline of the country is up and running.
